What is the key thing necessary to help us in remaining steadfast and in our journey of abstaining from sinful ways and bad habits?

  1. Assalaam alaikum, I just wanted to say I don’t think it’s good to promise to Allah because you know you might sin. I think just say to Allah that I will try not to sin. I’ve been told breaking a promise with someone is a sin so I’m scared to make any promise to Allah. I don’t even know if breaking a promise to someone is a sin or not. Allah Knows best. I’m just being careful with words.
