Purification of the Soul

The men and women who remember Allah have been specially mentioned in the Quran amongst the categories of people that are dear to Allah.

Whoever suffered an affliction and he knew that it occurred by Allah’s Judgement and Decree, and he patiently abides, awaiting Allah’s reward, then Allah guides his heart, and will compensate him for his loss in this life by granting guidance to his heart and certainty in faith. Allah will replace whatever he lost for Him with the same or what is better.

The remembrance of Allah calms and fortifies the soul. It cultivates fortitude and perseverance, moderates impatience, and repels depression and despair.

Keeping death in mind fills up one's heart with content with what one already has of provisions; curbs one's desire to indulge in envious, bestial rivalry over things material, and makes him focus instead on worship and devotion because he is certain that death may clamp upon him unannounced anytime.

One who cares for widows and the poor is like those who fight in the way of Allah or those who spend their days fasting and their nights praying

It is for this reason that lowering ones gaze from (seeing) the prohibited things necessarily leads to three benefits that carry tremendous value and are of great significance.

“That which has killed mankind is the introduction of food on top of food before it has been digested.”

Know, my fellow brother, that there are certain etiquettes to the Hajj, which one must abide by and adorn himself with.
